HAS YOUR FILM WON ANY AWARDS, OR SPECIAL ACCOLADES?

I haven’t submitted it anywhere…yet.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CREATING MACHINIMA? Since January 2006

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MOVIE MAKING?

I initially wrote short stories, but film is my preferred storytelling medium. When I came across a demo of a software which allowed me to actually create my own films, I jumped right in and have been enjoying the plunge ever since.

WHAT INSPIRED YOUR FILM?

I’ve always had a fondness for the works of Lovecraft since I first read his “the Call of Cthulhu” in junior high. I’ve filmed several animated films which were inspired by his mythos, but have never actually done an adaptation of his works. So I finally decided to give it a shot, and this film was the result.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE STRONGEST AND/OR WEAKEST POINTS OF YOUR FILM?

The strongest aspect of this film is the use of lighting and shadows. I devoted three months to learning lighting and shadow techniques before delving into this project.

The weakest point is my lack of contribution to the storyline and character development since I tried to avoid deviating too much from the original tale.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER TO ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING TRYING MACHINIMA?

Stop thinking and start doing. It only gets better from there :D

HOW DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF MOVIE MAKING?

Eventually machinima will be as accepted as any other form of mainstream entertainment medium. As the adage goes, good things take time.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE THE VIEWER TO KNOW?

I’ll keep filming. What exactly I don’t know, but I’ll keep them coming because that’s what keeps me going.
