HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CREATING MACHINIMA? December 2005
HOW DID YOU GET INTO MOVIE MAKING?
In december 2005, I got the Lionhead game ‘The Movies’ as a present. I fiddled a bit with the simulation part of the game, but soon got captivated by the ability to make short films, and when I discovered the online part of the ‘The Movies’ community, was amazed at all the people who felt the need to share their films!
From then on, there was no way back – I since changed my main engine for movie making to Moviestorm, but the need for telling stories and learning all kinds of technical stuff is as strong as ever, if not stronger now.
Who knows where this journey will lead me – all I know is that I enjoy every step of it!
WHAT INSPIRED YOUR FILM?
Saving Grace was inspired by a competition with the theme ‘Distance’.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER TO ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING TRYING MACHINIMA?
Have a good, involving story – great visuals are always a plus, but it’s the story which makes the movie linger in the viewers minds.
HOW DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF MOVIE MAKING?
I hope that machinima will one day grow out of it’s niche and become more widely known as medium for story-telling.
