BIO
Kate Fosk (also known as Kkffoo – and other half of Pineapple Pictures).
Raised in a log cabin by bears Kate’s early life showed no signs of the oddness to come. Peeling a library book off a frozen windowsill she dreamed of being Barbara Cartland and writing very pink books, but in her heart she knew that the government space program was beckoning, and she was destined to become an astronaut. She studied hard, and learned lots of hard sums, and impossible things about light beams and eventually found herself in a basement with a professor who had been traumatised in the war, and looked a bit like a Bond villain (the old fashioned kind with the cat). She quite liked watching the high voltage sparks, but her head was full of stories that couldn’t find a home (thankfully she had manage to avoid the clutches of NASA, who it turned out weren’t looking for her anyway)
She decided that life still didn’t make sense, and realised her mistake, she had been pursuing the very large and the very small, and she needed to look at the squidgy bits in the middle. This kept her occupied for quite a while. Then one day she found herself in life drawing class, and the tutor asked everyone to draw the next sketch upside down. Kate’s drawing was not that good, but it was exactly the same as her drawing the right way up and the tutor said that meant she was an artist.
She doubted this pronouncement, but it was a radical new idea, and a possible *new thing to do*, as finding out all about squidgy biological things turned out to be a massive and undoable task. So she tried paint, and music, and eventually those things turned out to be quite hard as well, so she gave up and played computer games a for a while, and even made a few movies just to see what it might be like. This also turned out to be quite tricky, but for some reason she seemed to stick at it, maybe because it let her do all the other things at once, and there is nothing Kate like’s better than that.
(Most of this is true, apart from the bears).
